NJ Phillipsburg Railroad Walls
Marker Description: The "Railroad Walls" have rock that is cracked perpendicular to the ground so water gets into the rock and it can and will break off when you climb. It is not the best climbing location but if you have ropes and don't mind a few rock breaks have at it. There are also big trees to tie off from at the top and a nice walking trail to get up there.

You can park over by the skate park and walk through the hole in the right corner of the fence and walk along the defunct rail road tracks to the area where there are several good walls.

Made it back today, again without ropes, and had my first rock break off experience here, so I changed the main description. I could feel the rock give way in my hand and actually pulled it off. See pic. I may be back with ropes when I get them but will not do the lower level cross free climbing, even with the three foot drop I'll probably break and ankle or some such with no health insurance. See pic of rock that came off in my hand.

Started trying to free climb but chickened out. Will go back with ropes, once I figure out what I'm doing. I have the harness shoes but no rope at this point. Ha.
