MT Crazy Peak
Marker Description: Crazy Peak in the Crazy Mountains, start at Halfmoon trailhead on Big Timber Creek, for the “standard” approach. On the Big Timber Creek approach, you will see the well-marked turn to Blue Lake, you will cross Big Timber Creek one last time to a good area for a base camp at around 8500 feet, above the stream between Blue and Granite Lakes.

To the summit, take the finger between Pear Lake and an unnamed basin to the east. Then take the west ridge route to the base of the technical section, just east of the Gap Couloir. The easiest terrain on the technical section seems to be on the south side of the ridge, although routes are possible both along the top of the ridge and on the north side. Ascend the false summit. There is a chimney heading into the southwest couloir and descent via a rib in between the false and true summits. Then head up the southerly branch of the couloir for a scramble to the summit.

Made it to the false summit in June and had to turn back due to bad weather.
