Fished yesterday with my Dad in the afternoon. My father caught a chunky rainbow on a white and red spotted flat fish; fished slow and deep through a nice pool just down from the lot, on the lot side of the first island down. Some other fishermen reported doing well on white streamers.

I fished downstream on the far side from the lot where the river splits to a rivulet, which runs a very long way on that side. I managed to fish every pocket, pool and run with no a strike. I was exhausted and my shoulder was aching before I had to head upstream on the main stem ( to find my Dad) trudging up in the current. No so good. When I got back I was happy to hear my Dad caught a solid rainbow, which gave a great fight, but a 16 incher is not what we were hoping for. Still a good fish, what can you do?

Spot burner!!!

Good thing you figured out to cut that red plastic crap off your spinner...then you caught them!!!

That was great day for me as well.

LA nice lunker brown! What great success on spinners. Did you try any of your killer white jigs?

Hit the West Branch with George on 10/10/10. Fish were in just about any hole that looked halfway decent, and they were willing biters. From the parking lot down about a mile and a half was non-stop action for George on an old, beat-up gold CP Swing. He tallied about 30 for the day, including a few 14-inch rainbows and browns. I scored only six, but got the big fish of the day: a 21" brown on a Mepps #1 gold. According to local experts, gold is the best color on the upper Delaware and its branches. I did not start catching fish consistently until I cut the red tubing off the Mepps' hook.
