Marker Description: The Ratitan River (Southside) is a nice deep hole. Always big catty, carp, bass, musky and pike.

Parking: Lot is usually open pull all the way back and park. Leave at dusk cause they do close the gate at night. Love this spot.

I tossed in a few different Rooster Tails and Panther Martin lures. My go-to panther martin lure is one of those little rainbow trout lures - no luck. Since I was able to park right at the water, I had a second rod with salmon eggs that I let drop about 2ft below the top of water. Not a bite.

I def. plan to be out during the nicer days in winter. I do want to try Echo Lake soon. They just did the winter stocking there. Not sure how shore fishing will be, but may take my daughter this weekend: https://www.google.com/maps/preview#!data=!1m4!1m3!1d3499!2d-74.3443955!3d40.6737824

Keep in touch.

Audio: what cha using? I find that the trout magnet rapala type lure, the smaller version in the rainbow trout or brown trout pattern is one of the best scouting lures around, toss that around to locate where the fish are and then you can switch it up if need be - you can buy them direct from trout magnets web site, good to see you are out in this cold weather, we'll have to get together soon, I've just been locked up with baby duty and work, talk to you soon, - also I've heard the lower musconetcong is fishing well from my buddy Denis.

Definitely a cool spot, but I must be doing it wrong. I arrived yesterday 12/1 around 1pm and fished through dusk at around 4:30. Weather was nice, mid 40's. Not a single bite. This is my third trip to the Raritan without a bite. Twice up at Duke Island, now here. Nothing :-/
