NJ Passaic River, Audobon Park
Marker Description: Passaic River is loaded with native browns and rainbows. Boulders, rocky bottom, tree falls, pools and riffles. Old growth trees surround - beauty.

From other sources (I walked in from downstream) - You are required to sign in/request permission from the Audobon Society. They will ask that you not fish within sight of the road and not fish with bait.

Many wild rainbows and browns. Walked upstream and found a very deep hole. Used some dry flies and caught big brown but fell off. Nymphed every deep hole and trout were everywhere.

Hit this stretch in March a few years ago, caught about a dozen trout, 'bows and browns, on small spinners. Nothing of size. Kind of a tough stretch to fish, but trout hold in even the really small pockets.

Walked up from Route 287 - see marker description below for details - caught a total of 44 trout on spinners. Additional pics.
