PA McMichaels Creek, Broad Street Falls
Marker Description: McMichaels Creek/Big Meadows Run at the Broad Street Falls. The Creek below the falls didn't have good plant life, it didn't look real alive but I have heard some great things of the water upstream from a friend. I was passing through and pretty tired so I only took a few casts below the falls.

Opposite from the mowed and stone piled side, you can climb under the chain link fence and it is not too steep of a scramble and safe enough to get to the bank of the Creek. There are enormous rocks that have been scoured by the water on this side. Very cool spot, good for trout - heavily stocked and for shad that come up and can't go any farther.

Fished today with my Dad and we caught trout in the main pool. We had a lot of follows. No size. A lot of fish left in this hole.

The pool is hard to fish when the water is up because it is deep and there is a strong swirl. Half way through a cast the lure is being propelled by the current before it hits a new current and gets pulled the other way. Hard to get the lure deep enough.

The trout fishermen where lined up on both sides the day after opening day, lots of heavy stringers. PA Fish N Game stocks this spot heavy!

Fished with a trout magnet then a spinner. Had a big fish on with the spinner and thought it was a trout even though it was super silver - thought it must have been a trout. Then, a few more casts and I hooked into another big fish and saw that it was a shad. I realized the first fish had been a shad as well. Thought I had a monster trout, damn.
