Marker Description: A natural lake formed by the retreat of the Laurentide Ice Sheet more than ten-thousand years ago, it is primarily spring and stream fed. There are about a ten dwellings located on the lake's north east shore however, the majority of the shoreline is heavily wooded and in a natural state.

The fishing is excellent for pickerel, bass, black crappie, bluegill, crappie, etc. In the past the lake was stocked with trout but no ongoing population.

Boating on the lake is limited to non-powered and electric powered boats. This is a state owned lake but no identified public access point except for a gravel access once you get to the Lake from the main road. It is unclear if this is private property or not.

Fished yesterday with my Dad from kayaks using the gravel access and caught about 10 sunnies and five small smallmouth bass. We had some luck on topwater baits and jigs. The lake has nice weed structure and the fish were on the lillypad and weed edges. Thought we would have more luck. Saw some big carp and one nice sized pickeral. All in all not great, not worth a trip back. We also paddled through to the second smaller lake, which is a church retreat property and that lake was similar and nothing special. We didn't fish at the best time so maybe that was the problem. High sun makes for bad fishing so maybe this report is not the true test. Timing is everything.
