NJ Passaic River, Rte 46 Fairfield
Marker Description: The Passaic River in this area has the flood plain growth around the river, no underbrush, a sandy shore on the high side and low growth plants on the other. THere is this open walkable bank that it very pretty and easily accessible for fishing.

Parking lot pull off right along Rte 46 next the the USGS shack. You can also drive in along the dirt road, which is pretty well maintained, it goes back about a 100 yards before it turns more into a 4x4 trail - some tree branches and brush scrape your car. If I had better luck fishing I'd think about camping back in this area.

Searching for Northern Pike again, me and my father were surprised how nice the area looked but the water had little vegetation and seemed dead. We saw a few sunfish but no small fish along the banks. No strikes fished lures and spinner baits.

Fished with my Dad today no luck for northern pike or anything else, the area did not seem fishy.
