NJ Musconetcong, Stephensburg Road Bridge
Marker Description: Trout stocking location on the Musconetcong at the Stephensburg Road Bridge. The pool under the bridge is about three feet deep but has good riffles on each of the stone arches and holds fish on both sides as well as to the tail of the hole, which is built up by a manmade v rock spill. Stocked fish hold well in this pool.

Fished late this morning and there was quite a crowd. All were catching fish on butterworms, garden worms, powerbait, spinners and flat fish. I fished from the bridge with my fly rod and caught six. Caught the first three on a white elk hair caddis. Very cool to watch them surface for the flies. I could see about a 100 fish clearly in the water. None of any size. Most people were releasing the fish, one guy who was there early caught 30 another 21. A young boy was talking about a nice breeder brown that he saw under the bridge. Most of the action was in the tail water of the hole. Great fun, fish all around.
