NJ Delaware & Musconetcong River
Marker Description: The Musconetcong/Delaware River Junction Pool is a great spot for Striped Bass. The best bait is trout, minnows and eels. Lures also work well. Early morning, evening and night are the times to fish.

Beautiful spot with easy access from the parking area just up the embankment. This spot does get some decent fishing pressure but the stripers are waiting for stocked trout coming out of the Muskie and at the right time big Stripers await.

Also channel catfish about.

Fished this evening with my Dad and Melissa. There were two groups of people fishing the junction pool. Down at the end of the sand bar, one guy fishing with chicken livers caught three small striped bass.

We had a dozen or so stream caught minnows. I caught one five inch small mouth bass and nothing else. My Dad and Melissa got skunked.

After the sun went down the lights from the Reiglesville Bridge were putting on a nice show on the water and the sky turned a nice shade of purple. Just about that after magic hour but still magic time I hooked into a nice fish on a smaller minnow and my line was going out. I never did get to see the fish. I came near the surface and I reeled in my line with the fish still alive on the end. I had some 10 pound spider wire with a large rod and I think it was either a good striper or a real big small mouth bass. I'll never know.

The area were the Muscie comes in is shallow and then it drops off. I hooked the fish in the turn and am not sure if it was before the drop off or not.

Walked down in the middle of the day and talked to a few fishermen. They had no luck. See pics.
