Marker Description: Crane Creek is a beloved local spot. Although well known, the fishing is difficult, which keeps down the numbers of fishermen down. To have success here, you normally need to put in some time and learn the creek.

Crane Creek has pure McCloud River redband rainbow trout, originally found in California's McCloud River. The trout were stocked by railroad workers in the town of Crane.

Fish from 2 inches to over twenty; caddis, mayflies and stoneflies, but they are fairly small. Hare's ear nymphs up to size 10 produce as well as ant patterns.

In the town of Crane, the creek flows through a town park, and there are trout (where the marker is placed) right in the park. Downstream near the dairy farms fishing is good. Farm owners have allowed fishing access.
