Marker Description: Capps Creek is a nice little trout stream. At the Capps Creek Conservation area Downstream you will find the old Jolly Mill.

Here it is a park like setting with large lawns. The mill dam creates a man-made waterfall and solid riffles. Upstream from the mill, there are springs and the fishing is very good -- perhaps the best among the Missouri White Ribbon areas. Aside from the mill area shortly after stocking, there isn't usually a great deal of fishing pressure. Many good-sized holdover/native trout can be found.

The trout management area is 4 miles upstream from the creek's confluence with Shoal Creek, the best trout water is between the dam and the springs. springs.
