Fished today - the day after opening day of trout season. I pulled off 611 to fish the deep picturesque pool under the high tension wires in the lower stretch. The pool is very deep and runs along the rock ledge under the steep cut area for the high tension wires. It could not have looked better but I did not get a follow or strike with trout magnets and spinners.

I've heard some great stories about this stretch but this is the second skunking I've experienced. I will come back to fish the pool as it runs into the Delaware maybe in May and if I get skunked then I may not come back.

I fished today with nymphs and with spinners. I was awed by the depth of the pools and the beauty of the water. I really love the stone railroad walls and cement ledges mixed with the natural rock cliffs. The water just looked so good. But... I caught and saw nothing.

I checked this stratch out b/c a fisherman I met on the Lopatcong told me he had a 36 inch brown on in the pool that meets the river but it broke off. He also told me that the PA Division of F&G shocked that pool a week later and saw the brown. I didn't make it all the way to the junction pool but even in the pools I fished they looked deep and good enough to hold monster trout. I will definitely be back and hope to have updates with trout caught or at least seen.
