Lake Champlain is one of the best places to fish in the world. The lake offers a wide variety of species, including but not limited to: salmon, trout, largemouth and smallmouth b***, walleye, pike and muskie. No matter what time of year, there is some kind of fishing available. Deep waters can be trolled for salmon and trout, shallow weed flats can be combed for b***, and even ice fishing for panfish can be productive. The shear size of the lake means that a boat is almost a necessity to maximize the fishing potential. There are numerous marinas on the lake that rent boats, and there are several guides available for day-long trips. This is a destination that I believe every serious fisherman should visit at least once in their life.
