NJ Honey Run, Lower Stretch Hope
Marker Description: Stocked trout in good pool under the bridge on the lower section of Honey Run. Honey Run has some nice holes but the briars cover the stream and it is difficult to get good access, this makes this lower section attractive to explore. I'm not sure if there are natives but it appears that stockies can hold over. The stream is very small but pretty. This section is also a NJDF&G lands area so you have no issues with trespassing. Upstream from the bridge there are two homes but if you make it through there is a good area far from roads.

Water level was down, walked upstream and caught one small brookie and saw numerous others. There were people mowing there back yards and I just bailed. I sure there are many trout upstream but need to get early past the homes to make the walk. Also, the stream is just so small. But there are some nice deep holes behind the house right there. Good run and gun stop.

Fished in the pool under the bridge and caught two nice stockies. Did not see any sign of natives but they should be there. All on metal, lots of briars to get through to get to the stream, but the stream looks good - like a smaller beaver brook - could be teaming with trout leter this spring/summer. I will be back.
