Any smallmouth bass and walleye in the river as far north as Hancock? It's coldwater mostly north of Calicoon, but I'm wondering...

LA nice sized trout. Who was your guide?

Took a guided drift boat with George down from the East Branch in Hancock down about 8 miles on 10/9/10. We didn't catch a whole lot of fish, but most of them were of good size. Biggest fish was a 19.5" brown. Also scored an 18" rainbow and a 17.5" brown. The biggest trout were caught on spinners the guide provided from a local tackle maker called Thomas. A red bead above a half gold, half silver willow leaf blade on a clevis, followed by six gold beads on the shaft above the treble. Very simple, they cast like a rocket, and spin effortlessly. We also got a few walleye, and a nice 15" smallmouth. Guide was great positioning the boat and providing lunch. Best pickles I ever ate!
