NJ Delaware River, Scudders
Marker Description: The fast water below Scudders Falls on the Delaware River is a good Stripper location and also good for channel cats. Minnows and eels work extremely well here. Small mouth too.

There is an old dam and spill way that creates a deep heavenly aerated shoot below the island and dam at Scudders Falls.

Fished with minnows with my Dad at about 1:30 p.m. The water looked real good. The first two minnows that I threw in I got good strikes. I finally caught a fish and though it would be a striper but it was a 13 inch small mouth. It really gave quite an amazing fight, I was using 10 lb spider wire and though I had a lunker on.

Well, the Delaware River small mouth puts up a hall of a fight but it is no 25 plus inch striper either. Anyway, nothing other than the smallie. My Dad was fishing with metal and he had no luck.

Water was clear and all looked good. Caught one small small mouth bass. Mepps and panther martin spinners used nothing else.
