NJ Capoolong Creek, Kingston Rd
Marker Description: Capoolong is trout stocked and holds native trout. Also some small mouth bass and sunfish.

The pool under the bridge is deep and a good spot during stocking season. There are some nice pools and riffles for holdovers and natives throughout and the stream is pretty. Big trees and nice rock ledges. No big boulders or falls but good stone bottom.

Fished today with fly gear and saw a number of trout upstream in the rope swing pool. The trout were hanging under the enormous elm trees roots. I had one small brown on but lost it and caught a good number of sunnies. The trout were looking at a number of beadheads that I tried, green, maroon then the one trout finally struck on a black long haired beadhead. After the fish struck and jumped the show was over and the trout were hiding.

I tried a shrimp replica and a poofy white snaggle with thin body nymph - I tried all sizes but no luck. I caught a few sunnies at the tail end of that pool.
