PA Bushkill Creek, Easton
Marker Description: The Bushkill Creek is heavily stocked by the PADF&G, this location is right in the city limits. The street level bridge has totally changed after the bridge repairs but still has a nice deep cut under the bridge on the DPW yard side of the river. The rocks from the road put in the water while the bridge is being fixed may actually be a benefit over time. This spot is heavily stocked and always seems to have a few trout about. The log jam at the stantion makes it difficult to spin fish but the drifts on either side of the jam are excellent for nymphing and bait.

This area in the Easton City Limits has very steep banks and it is best to wade as this entire area has fish.

Lots of bows caught, bread and heavy weight of bridge were hammering, we caught a good number on spinners and trout magnets, no size, a few Palaminos caught. See pic of cooler with trout to restock.

PA Fall stocked trout in the Bushkill Creek yesterday. Fish were visible all over, some nice sized, no luck for me though. See underwater video of trout:

Fished today and had a number of follows under the bridge and above. Earlier in the day, my Dad caught about eight in the morning all along the wall and under the bridge. The bridge construction has really changed the flow under the bridge and has carved a super deep pool along the stantion and there are a lot of trout about under the bridge.

The weather was almost muggy yesterday and the trout were much more active below and above the bridge. Unlike on opening day, I saw many trout and they were following in my spinners and trout magnets. I caught two small rainbows - on under the bridge and one below. A number of other fisherman had a few fish each. I probably saw fifty or so trout and at least one over 16 inches.

Fished opening day today and my cousin Craig caught 6ix trout on a number 1 silver Mepps. This year they are fixing the bridge so the log jam is gone. He caught all the fish under the bridge below the road and pipes that are being used to help fix the bridge.

Not many fish were biting, perhaps because the water was too cold. Many fish could be seen but not many caught except for Craigs burst of six fish in a short period of time.

Went back and fished with metal after the rain on both sides of the jam as well as the riffle in the pool below the bridges. Got skunked took some pics of the Bushkill Creek.

Fished today under the jam and caught one nice rainbow with healthy big fins. It hit on a maroon bead head nymph w/ black tail. I had a few other strikes but I missed the fish. I walked up on the bridge and saw a few trout in the water - no real size. See my pics.

I also walked around the bend and saw a lot of trout in the water. I didn't have any luck though even after trying a number of dries. There are a lot of fish in the Bushkill for June. Good stuff.

Glad you had some luck nymphing, I passed through walking up the stream and had no luck with spinners - early morning. I saw a fly fisherman doing real well nymphing at the next dam upstream. I plan on breaking out the fly rod the next time out - today I just wanted to cover a lot of water fast got to go to Easter famdamily day.

Fished this morning and there were several people fishing off the bridge. I fished the log jam from in the river with waders. I caught six rainbows with a small brown beadhead nymph. See my pic of the log jam from the water level.

Yes, there were a lot of fish in this spot, thanks dnorris for the tip. But I guess they are everywhere right now, ha, ha. Catch and Release my brothers so we can keep catchin'.

Fished opening day in the morning at this location and caught 11 trout all rainbows from 9 to 12 inches. Nine caught on a No. 2 Mepps and two on powerbait. Saw two large golden trout, one twenty plus and one around 16. Neither were caught in the morning while I was there. (11 trout 2010).

Not many fisherman which was surprising because many fish were visible from the bridge including the palaminos. Most fisherman were on the bridge or on the shore w/o waders. No shoulder to shoulder to deal with. Good spot.
