PA Bushkill Creek, College Hill
Marker Description: The College Hill Dam on the Bushkill creates a very deep pool. The flow is particularly strong so there is not an easy way to get a good drift in the water directly after the wash. Good drifts in the riffle after the dam begin a short distance down from the dam and under the bridges.

The stretch above the dam is predictably slow and deep.

A pretty spot if you can appreciate the beauty in a river flowing through a post industrial city with old dams and bridges.

New goal is to catch a 30 inch trout. Decided to hit up the Bushkill to see if any trout are running up from the muddy Delaware. Fished down at the junction with no luck. There was a good wash area between the brown Delaware and the green of the Bushkill but i had no luck. The banks are steep along both sides so I drove up to the next dam up. Where this marker placement is. I fished big rapalas and caught two rainbows with big fins that are likely fish from the Delawre - 16 and 15 inches. I walked under the bridges, one tunnel has no water and is lighted, there looks to be some human residences under there. I spoke to a guy who seemed to be a possible dweller who said his son caught a 31 inch brown that ran up from the Delaware last year and that a guy just pulled in a brown over thirty right under the dam last week. I believed the guy. he also said there is a deep hole about 45 yards down from the bridges that is hard to get to but the trout hang there in the heat of the summer. This may be a spot where an elusive 30 incher can be found if this guy is telling real tales. Will be back. No pics today. New found respect for the lower Bushkill.

Fished today with a rapala type rainbow trout lure with no action. Found a trap of some type which had a can of tuna fish as bait. See pic, I left the trap without touching it. Also, there is some type of art installation under the bridge, see pic. Might be cool to climb it in the summer. Water had that nice Bushkill greenish hue but nothing doing.

Fished this morning below the dam and above the dam, with spinners and had no luck. Couldn't fish too much above the dam because the arm chair warriors were lined up and I passed over their water.

Surprising that there was no action though, especially below the dam.
