NJ Buckhorn Creek, Roxburg Rd
Marker Description: Buckhorn Creek at Roxybury Station Road is a nice meadow stretch of the creek. Trout stocked rather well in this location for such a small stream.

Also upstream the Buckhorn flows away from the road for a long way so there may be some good trout back there. Also the Ha Ha Creek flows into the Buckhorn just upstream from this location and the Ha Ha has natives so... this could be a good area for holdovers and/or natives.

Stopped in after fishing the Pequest on the Opener and there were seven little trout just below the bridge, caught 1 on a trout magnet and missed one on a prince size 14. Someone ripped down the trout stocking sign so I thought they might not have stocked. Good way to keep your little honey hole full, nice work by somebody. Can't fool a clown though and the water being so low and clear it was hard not to spot the trout.

Walked a short section of the Buckhorn Creek and the water was gin clear. I didn't see any fish and had no strikes on spinners. I moved quickly and was only there for a short period of time.

Fished today, opening day, caught two small rainbows on spinners. Saw a number of fish right below the bridge. They stocked a good net here. Decided not to bait fish with the hopes these fish will spread out. (2010 DLN 35 trout).
