This year the cormorants have been having a field day with the stocked trout, reports of five oily black bastards in residence. NJDFG allows air lifting from the hatchery via eagles and ospreys - this years reg magazine says the guys at the hatchery are making plans to keep the birds out or some such bull**** - disease not our fault - uh how long should it take to put up nets - dem birds be too smart - and promotes increased common merganser and cormorants via 1,000 plus shallow lake and bridge drops for slurp 'em up and enclosed airlifts. NJDFG's new slogans: Trout - Flying the Not So Friendly Skies; Your Trout Dollars Feed Birds, New Jersey - Trout Fishing is for the Birds or New Jersey Fishermen Catch 10% of the Trout We Stock (But no trout go to waste).

Road suck, nearly threw Stevie out the side car. Some decent channels. I had decent success with small LM Bass there. Mostly from the brook that feeds into it from the North West corner. Nothing huge but a few of the bigger ones were in the 2lb range. Access from shore is really easy and there is a good amount of it...given the size of the "lake" - ha might be pushing it.

This lake also holds some decent-sized largemouth bass and channel and bullhead catfish. There is a boat launch at the parking area; canoes, kayaks and boats with electric motors (no outboards) are allowed. Can get weed-choked in the summer, but weedless lures and topwaters can work well on bass. A good lake to pull up a lawn chair and toss some bait for a couple of hours.
